As writers we are compelled to tell stories. At the core of each of these stories is a resounding truth that makes the plot and characters come to life for the reader. This full-day craft workshop will explore the idea of the Writer’s Truth. Author and educator Erica Vital-Laraze will teach writers to craft lifelike characters and compelling plots. Using a combination of instruction and pen-to-paper exercises, she will help attendees identify and build upon the interplay between characterization, narration, description, and dialogue. Attendees will compose the beginnings of a short story, novel, or poem to read, share, and critique.
